RUSSIA -- Charles Grogean age 96 of Russia, Ohio died peacefully at his home on Wednesday, December 22, 2021. He was born on December 25, 1924 in Russia, Ohio to the late Henry & Rosalee (Simon) Grogean. He married Hilda Seger on October 14, 1950 and she survives in Russia. He is survived by his sons & daughters-in-law: John & Linda Grogean and Timothy & Jennifer Grogean all of Russia, 9 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 4 sisters and 5 brothers. He was a member of St. Remy Catholic Church, Russia and was a graduate of Russia High School. He was a veteran of the US Navy during WWII and a member of the CWV, Russia. He retired from Copeland Electric. He loved golfing fishing playing cards especially poker and euchre. He enjoyed working outdoors and in his machine shop. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at St. Remy Catholic Church, Russia. Burial with full military honors will take place in St. Remy Cemetery, Russia. Per Charles' request, Hilda & Charles' immediate & extended families are invited to a private family viewing at 6:00 PM on Monday, December 27, 2021. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Wilson Hospice. Arrangements are entrusted to Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Russia. Condolences may be left at www.hogenkampfh.com.

So many great memories of this family and so many good times shared by my parents with Hilda and Charlie. We know he will be missed by so many left behind but there are also many more heavenly friends and family cheering his arrival.... Hard to be sad about that.
