SIDNEY - Doris Ann (Harp) Conrad, age 90 of Sidney, passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at 3:22 AM at Ayden Healthcare of Piqua. She was born on September 16, 1935, in Sidney, Ohio, the daughter of the late Harry and Agnes (Apple) Harp. On March 18, 1956, she married her high school sweetheart, Robert Conrad, who preceded her in death on September 6, 1999.
Doris is survived by three children: Rebecca (Eddie) Drinnen of Sidney, David (Dawn) Conrad of Minster, and Beverly Conrad (Colleen) of Englewood, FL, eight grandchildren: Sara Conrad of Sidney, Brendon (Melissa) Conrad of Urbana, OH, Marissa Conrad of Vandalia, OH, Malori McCracken, Whitni McCracken both of Englewood, FL, Virginia Chambers, Keith (Honey) Drinnen, and Jason (Ling) Drinnen all of Sidney, 14 great-grandchildren (Kyrsten, Jalen, Jace, Soleil, Ranaya, NaKaiya, MJ, Colt, Paulette, Charlotte, Remey, Ellyson, Ceatero, Liber), and 6 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five siblings: Henry Harp, Ruth Elsner, Lester Harp, Helen Lynch, and Richard Harp.
Doris was a lifetime member of St John's Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School, sang solos with her beautiful voice, and worshiped every Sunday from the third row. Doris loved children and could always be found where there was a new baby or little child. She started by babysitting for her nieces and nephews and then for years she babysat for teacher's children in her home as she raised her family. Becoming a grandmother was one of the most rewarding roles for her. She cherished each grandchild, great-grandchild, and great-great grandchild and loved singing lullabies to them. She once again had the opportunity to babysit, this time for several of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Although she also worked at Chase Bank, her first love was for her family. She enjoyed making the holidays special each year and watching her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren play sports. She knitted many baby blankets, Barbie clothes, and slippers over the years. She's also created beautiful cross-stitch wall hangings. Most featured her favorite color, pink. She also loved playing cards with groups of friends, especially the UNO gang (who played everything but UNO).
Funeral Services for Doris will be held Monday, December 1, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. John's Lutheran Church with Rev. Steve Edmiston officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Sidney. The family will receive friends at St. John's on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Arrangements are in the care of Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home.
