PIQUA -- Herbert L. Chambers, 55, of Piqua, passed away at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, September 30, 2021 at Miami Valley Hospital. He was born July 7, 1966 in Piqua to the late James and Marilyn (Stump) Chambers. He married Cheryl (McMartin) Chambers on May 28, 2017 in Sidney and she survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Dustin (Kylie Hopkins) Chambers, and Cody Chambers; four step-children, Jimmy (Elizabeth) Lloyd, Steve Lloyd, Melissa (Rodger) Herferd, and Heather (Andrew) Delehanty; his uncle, Jack Chambers; two grandchildren, Aubree Chambers and Noah Hume; ten step grandchildren, Erin Lloyd-Lindsay, Hunter Lloyd, Nevaeh Burt, Callie Lloyd, Parker Lloyd, Zack Pretsman, Hannah Pretsman, Madison Herferd, Emily Herferd, and Ansleigh Herferd; also many other relatives and friends.
Herb was a graduate of Piqua High School and Upper Valley JVS, Class of 1985 where he studied graphic design and photography. He had attended both the Heavy Metal Church of Christ in Greenville and Sidney First United Methodist Church. Herb most recently worked as a Forklift Operator for Emerson Climate Technologies. He was a member of the Sidney Eagles, he loved to go fishing and for rides on his motorcycle and was an avid gun collector. Herb loved spending time with his family and friends, and loved his dogs, Buddy and Layla.
A service to honor his life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Miami Memorial Park in Covington. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, also at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 E 33rd St, New York, NY 10016.
