PORT JEFFERSON — Jeffrey Alan McMaster, 57, of 102 S. Water St., Port Jefferson, Ohio, passed away at 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, 2014, at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima.
He was born on Feb. 10, 1957, in Tacoma, Washington, the son of Tom and Ann (Seyfried) McMaster, who survive in Sidney.
On July 3, 1982, he was married to Susan Dorsey, who survives him along with their three children, Emiley McMaster, of Port Jefferson, Nicholas McMaster, of Wheaton, Illinois, and Jenna McMaster, of Port Jefferson; three siblings, Mike (Pam) McMaster, of Colorado, Carolyn Copeland and Dave McMaster, both of Piqua, Ohio, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. McMaster worked for Thermoseal in Sidney for more than 25 years. Jeff was most notable for his intense passion for Ohio State and Bengals football, and he could usually be seen wearing their merchandise. He loved his family and friends and enjoyed making wood carvings for them. He also loved working outside in the garden and walking outdoors in the woods, which were the inspiration for his designs. Many people will enjoy his signature walking sticks and sandstone castles for years to come. He was an animal lover and will be especially missed by his beloved dog, Kya. He was happiest driving down the road in his 1987 Camaro and blasting 80's rock music with the T-tops down.
A graveside service will be on Thursday, Dec. 11, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at Glen Cemetery in Port Jefferson, with Pastor Alan Leach officiating.
Arrangements are in the care of Cromes Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave., Sidney.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Bruckner Nature Center in Troy, Ohio, or the St. Rita's Medical Center Hospice in Lima, Ohio.
Guestbook condolences may be expressed to the McMaster family at the funeral home's website, www.cromesfh.com.

Thank You Jeff. My fist thought of you is laughing. Your contagious laugh infected the hearts of your Thermoseal Family for 25 years. Whether we were lifting weights before work, working late into the evening, or grilling out after work we laughed. Few ever took more pride in demonstrating the value of working hard, a clean and orderly work area, a clean car, grilling steaks, loud music, and most importantly being a family man. Thank You for making me a recipient of one of your meticulous sand castles, to this day it resides under glass in my living room....one of my most prized possessions makes me think of you often. Thank YOU!

I will always remember you being my mentor when I first started at Thermoseal & we ended up becoming very good friends. I will miss watching the Buckeyes games with you, but I'll never forget doing snow angels after the Buckeyes National Championship win in 2002. You will be missed deeply.
