Louis Ahrns

FORT LORAMIE — Louis P. Ahrns, age 57, of 6704 Cisco Road, died at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday May 1, 2014, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, Ohio.

He was born on Sept. 11, 1956, in Sidney, Ohio, to the late Joseph and Mary (Keller) Ahrns. He married Denise Rindler on April 28, 1984, in St. Henry, Ohio. She survives in Fort Loramie, Ohio.

He is also survived by son Jerry Ahrns and fiancé Melissa Wenning and her son Zachary, of Fort Loramie, and Jayme and Dan Brockman and their daughter Emily, of Fort Recovery; brothers and sisters, Leo Ahrns, Fort Loramie, Esther and Joe Heitkamp, Fort Recovery, Vernon and Amy Ahrns, Fort Loramie, Leroy and Phyllis Ahrns, Sidney; mother-in-law Benita Rindler, Coldwater; in-laws Bill and Christie Rindler, Rossburg, Randy and Deb Rindler, Tipp City, Curt and Patti Rindler, Anna, Karen and Frank Goffena, Maria Stein, Tony and Sandy Rindler, St. Henry, Jacqui and Steve Lehmkuhl, Tipp City, Gina Rindler, Sidney, Tom and Lisa Rindler, Tipp City.

He was preceded in death by brothers Leon and Jerome Ahrns, sister-in-law Rita Ahrns and father-in-law William "Sonny" Rindler.

He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Newport, and the Men's Sodality of the church. He was also a member of the Knights of St. John, Fort Loramie, Minster FOE No. 1391 and Walkup Country Club. He was a 1976 graduate of Forted Loramie High School and work at Clopay in Russia, Ohio, until his illness.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Newport, with the Rev. Steven Shoup celebrant. Burial will take place in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Russia, from 2 to 8 p.m. on Monday, May 5, 2014, and from 9 to 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 6, 2014.
