Send FlowersSIDNEY - Wilma "June" Laughlin, 93, of Sidney, passed away peacefully at 9:30 A.M. on Thursday, November 6, 2025. She was born on June 21, 1932, in Shelby County, Ohio, the daughter of the late Walter and Florence (Middleton) Howell. On September 15, 1952, she married the love of her life, Ronald Laughlin, who preceded her in death on October 3, 2022, after sharing 70 devoted years of marriage.
June is survived by three children, Tina Hottle, Kim (Barb) Laughlin, both of Sidney, and Brett Laughlin of Lancaster; and three granddaughters, Ashley (Alex) Duff of Columbus, Brooke Laughlin of Columbus, and Paige Laughlin of Lancaster.
She was preceded in death by daughter, Elaine Laughlin; son-in-law, Curt Hottle; grandson, Zack Laughlin; and five siblings, Willard (Edith Mae) Howell, Dorothy (John) Moore, Mary Evelyn (Bob) Hageman, Charlene (Sam) Fogt, and Marvelene (Dick) Mitchell.
She was employed outside the home for most of her life still working well into her 70's. She worked at Wagner Manufacturing, Baum Folder, Aerovent and her last job was with the County's Regional Planning helping older and lower income families make improvements to their homes.
June was very proud of her four children. One served in the military and three graduated from The Ohio State University. It was then Ron and June began taking trips with the Buckeye Boosters. They did this for 26 years making it to all of the "Big 10" schools and many Bowl games.
June was chairman of the Democratic Party in Shelby County and also on the Democratic Central Committee. She was active in the Democratic Woman's Organization and the American Legion Auxiliary.
In her spare time, she loved to bake and play cards. She was a member of several card clubs.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at 12 P.M. at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home with Pastor Kris Geise officiating. Burial will follow at Pearl Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 10 A.M. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to Wilson Hospice Care, or to the Community Foundation of Shelby County (memo line: Elaine Laughlin).
