I had the pleasure of having Mr. Benson when I attended Arroyo Seco and remember his funny, kind and caring demeanor and how much he made his class fun while also making sure we learned what he was teaching us. My thoughts and prayers are with his family during these difficult times.

Thank you Mr. Benson for being such am amazing teacher! You inspired me in countless ways when I was a 7th grader many years ago. I wish I had the chance to tell you in person. May you rest in peace. My thoughts are with your family at this time.

Mr. Benson touched many of us at Arroyo Seco. I shared his obituary to a Facebook page today. Saugus High 80s Style. Many former students are sharing memories there. Several are remembering certain lessons and activities he did with us. Others, like me, have shared how he influenced us as teachers. Almost all are reacting with love and tears. How can he be gone?!
We all were blessed to have his calm, compassion, and knowledge in our lives during those challenging years in junior high.
