George Kumazawa
December 2, 1950 – October 28, 2025
Castaic - George Shizuka Kumazawa was born December 2, 1950, in Tokyo, Japan, and passed away October 28, 2025, in Castaic, CA, peacefully with his loving family by his side at his home, and due to complications from a heart attack suffered in June of this year. George is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Laura Kumazawa; their two children, Mike Kumazawa of Santa Paula, CA, and Katie Kumazawa of Castaic, CA; their grandson, Isaac George Kumazawa of Santa Paula, CA; and daughter-in-law, Sarah Kumazawa of Santa Paula, CA. A 38-year resident of Castaic, George came to the United States at a young age with his mother, Matsue "Kay" Tsurumi, grew up in Manhattan Beach, CA, where he attended Aviation High School, and met his high school and life-long sweetheart, Laura. They married soon after Laura graduated and immediately moved to Ketchikan, AK, to start their life together. George operated and later owned Gardena Specialized Processing, and Multi-Spec Painting, both in Gardena, CA, and both started by his mother Kay and her husband Harry "Bud" Yoder, since 1978. He was an avid golfer, cook, gambler, and lover of all things cars and especially Porsche. Memorial services are private, for family and friends, and will be held on Wednesday, December 10th at 12:00pm. For more information you may contact 661-433-8096.
