Harvey Wise Obituary
Harvey Allen Wise, 97, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, April 13, 2017. He was born January 27, 1920 in Akron OH to Ira and Pauline Wise and moved to California when he was two years old. He was a long-time resident of Arleta, CA before moving to Saugus, CA with his daughter, Carol, two years ago.
Harvey worked in the cement block industry for many years, including Clanton Block and General Concrete, before retiring from Angelus Block in 1985.
Harvey worshipped with Master's Mens Christian fellowship in Burbank, CA. He enjoyed baseball, rooting for the Angels, and cheering on his grandchildren's baseball and soccer teams where he was known simply as "Paw Paw". In his woodworking shop he skillfully hand-crafted gifts which bear his brand of "HAW" for family and friends.
He is survived by two daughters: Carol Wise and Karen Dillon; two grandchildren: Shawn Dillon and Katie Dillon. He was preceded in death by Catherine, his wife of 59 years, in 2003.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30am on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at Osborne Neighborhood Church, 13501 Osborne St, Arleta, CA 91331.
