Renate Hahn Obituary

Renate Hahn
1948-2025
Renate Hahn, beloved wife, mother, and friend, passed away on November 13, 2025, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. She was born in 1948 near Düsseldorf, Germany, and was 77 years old.
Renate immigrated to the United States in 1956 with her family, including her mother, father, sister, grandmother, and uncle. They first settled in Detroit, Michigan, before eventually moving to Southern California, where Renate built the life she cherished so deeply.
She attended Northridge Junior High School and Cleveland High School, where, in 1964, she met the love of her life, Duane. They married in 1966 and shared a devoted partnership that spanned nearly six decades. Together they raised two children, David and Eva, who were the pride and joy of Renate's life.
Renate spent the final 18 years of her career at Newhall Land, where she worked as an escrow coordinator. She truly loved her work and the people she worked with and remained grateful for that chapter of her life. In 2001, she retired due to a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis, a transition she faced with grace and resilience.
After retirement, Renate and Duane traveled across the country for several years, creating lasting memories before eventually settling down. Throughout her life, Renate was known for her warmth, loyalty, and deep love for her family. She faced life's challenges with quiet strength and left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
Renate is survived by her loving husband, Duane; her children, David and Eva; her Grandson, Cade, and the family members and friends who will miss her deeply.
