Carl H. Nelson, 86, of Sioux City IA, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2025, with his family by his side.
Carl was born March 27, 1938 at Walthill, NE to Harry and Mabel (Parrish) Nelson.
He lived in Fremont, NE. Worked at Overland Products Company and was a Fremont volunteer fireman.
On March 26, 1966, he married Margaret Clabaugh of Westfield, IA in Akron, IA.
They moved to Westfield, IA in the summer 1977.
There he worked for Royal Iron then went to work for Wells Blue Bunny from where he retired.
He is survived by his daughter, Tracy (John) Howard of Ancestor, SD; son, Ricci (Mary Ellen) of Sioux City, IA; stepdaughter, Mardell (Rodney) Obermiller of Council Bluffs; stepson Rodney Hoffman of Hudson, SD; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and step-grandchildren; brother, Don Nelson of Fremont, NE; sister, Betty (Don) Patton of Oceanside, WA.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Margaret; son, Randi; step grandson, Dustin. brother and sister-in-law, Dale and Peggy and brother Harold.
A funeral to celebrate the life of Carl and the impact that he left on anyone who happen to come across him will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. with a visitation beginning 2 hours prior at 9:00 a.m at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, 6200 Morningside Ave, Sioux City, Iowa, 51106.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Heritage Assisted Living, Sioux City, IA. The care that they provided him with was impeccable and he truly enjoyed the staff and the people who lived there.
