Craig A. Sitzmann, age 65, of Moville, passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at his home.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 10:30 a.m., at the United Methodist Church of Moville with the Rev. Eric Z. Sayonkon officiating. The family requests guests wear Craigs Crew t-shirts or Iowa Hawkeye clothing for the visitation. Memorials can be directed to St. Croix Hospice, the Moville United Methodist Church or the Gleason ALS Foundation.

Craig Allen Sitzmann was born June 12, 1959, to Floyd and Beverly (Hedges) Sitzmann in Sioux City, Iowa. He graduated from Lawton-Bronson High School with the class of 1977, a group who he remained close with during his life. Throughout high school he was active in wrestling and refereed many years with his brother, Jamie.

Craig was united in marriage to Debra Leisinger on November 16, 1985, at the Moville United Methodist Church. Craig and Deb were blessed with two children, Josh and Beth, and raised their family in Moville. Craig lived his entire life in Woodbury County.

Since 1989, Craig was involved in the family business, FS Repair, Inc. in Kingsley. First with his father, then later with his brother, Jamie, and sister, Lynette. He loved his job and his work family. Craig was an active member of the Moville United Methodist Church where he served as a trustee and cherished his church. He lived a nice but simple life. When he wasn't working, you could often find him outside, caring for his "perfect yard" and golfing in younger years. Craig and Deb were able to travel a lot in later years to eastern and western Caribbean, Mexico and Hawaii, their favorite place was Panama City Beach in Florida where they would spend the month of February each year. They also enjoyed going to Las Vegas every year or so also. Craig and Deb also enjoyed their weekly coffee with friends at Movillatte and later on at friends homes as his condition worsened. He also was a sports enthusiast following Lawton Bronson, Woodbury Central and Kingsley-Pierson Schools. The Sitzmanns were huge Hawkeye fans. He loved spending time with his wife, children and granddaughters and loved being a "Papi". Craig will be remembered by those who knew him as a very giving and kind man with a strong faith. Deb and Craig did a renewal of their wedding vows in November of 2023.

Craig is survived by his wife, Debra of Moville, IA; son, Josh (significant other, Shawnda) Sitzmann of Des Moines, IA; daughter, Beth (Tim) Nielsen of Kingsley, IA and granddaughters, Harper Grace and Sawyer Augusta Nielsen. He is also survived by his mother, Beverly (Richard) Williams of Merrill, IA; brothers, Guy (Nancy) Sitzmann of Brandon, SD, Rod (Kathy) Sitzmann of Sioux City, IA, Steve (Deon) Sitzmann of Sioux City, IA, Jamie (Barb) Sitzmann of Kingsley, IA; sister, Lynette (Frank) Harvey of Remsen, IA; brothers-in-law, Dave (Margo) Leisinger of Moville, IA and Cary (Kim) Leisinger of Johnston, IA and many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Floyd Sitzmann; brother, Floyd Jr. (in infancy) and his grandparents.
