KINGSLEY, IA - Doris M. Seuntjens, 89, of Kingsley, passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at Happy Siesta Health Care Center, Remsen, IA.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 25, 2023, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Remsen, IA. Burial will be at St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery, Kingsley, IA. Visitation was Friday, 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. with a Scripture service at 7:00 p.m. at Rohde Funeral Home, Kingsley, IA.
Doris was born April 20, 1934, Remsen, IA, the daughter of Nick and Catherine (Loutsch) Ruba. She grew up in the Remsen area graduating from Remsen St. Mary's Catholic High School in 1952. Doris and Bob Seuntjens were united in marriage February 11, 1958, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Remsen, IA. Following their marriage Doris and Bob lived on a farm east of Kingsley where they raised their family and farmed. Bob passed away February 22, 2018, after which Doris continued to live at her home in Kingsley.
Survivors include two sons: Bob (Patty) Seuntjens, and Bill (Amanda) Seuntjens; five granddaughters: Katey (Travis) Ludwig, Karley (Dylan) Bales, Kimmy Seuntjens, Sydney (Paul) Olathe, and Kaylinn Seuntjens; two grandsons: Kevin Seuntjens, and Carson Seuntjens; and six great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Alice Seuntjens; and brother-in-law, Tom (Alice) Seuntjens. Preceding Doris in death were her parents; husband, Bob; and brothers: Roman, Harold, Melvin (Agnes), Jim (Dorothy), Irvin (Ethel), and Msgr. Nicholas Ruba; and sister, Rosemary (Joe) Roder.
