ELI GREW UP IN SIOUX CITY, IOWA A SIGNIFICANT MEMBER OF A CLOSE -KNIT GROUP OF KIDS BONDED BY RELIGIOUS, CULTURAL AND MORAL VALUES. HE WAS EXTREMELY BRIGHT AND WELL LIKED. HIS FAVORITE CAR WAS A PLYMOUTH AND HE KNEW A LOT ABOUT IT . ALWAYS QUICK WITH A SMILE, HE WAS FRIENDLY TO EVERYONE. I NEVER SAW ANGER OR DISCOURAGEMENT. I BELIEVE WE ALL KNEW HE WOULD BE VERY SUCCESSFUL. HE WAS NATIONALLY PUBLISHED AT AN EARLY AGE. ELI WILL BE MISSED BY ALL WHO KNEW HIM AT EVERY STAGE OF HIS LIFE.

My condolences to all who loved this great doctor. We spoke once in about 1980 about his psychiatry practice and my work as a psychologist. I knew his entire family in Sioux City as I lived there in the 1950s. Great people all! Today I phoned his oldest sibling, Jerry Chesen and we had a nice chat. May God rest Eli's soul.
