James Dearborn Jackson

James Dearborn Jackson, 73, formerly Sioux City, died suddenly Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2021, at Hills Crossing Senior Living in Nisswa, Minn.

A private celebration will be held by his family at a later date. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery at Anamosa, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Kline Funeral Home in Pine River, Minn.

James was born Jan. 30, 1948, in Des Moines, Iowa, to John Bartow Jackson and Josephine Dearborn Jackson, the third of six children.

The family was transferred to Sioux City, where Jim attended Heelan High School, and joining the U.S. Marine Corps immediately out of high school, serving two tours in Vietnam.

He joined Burlington Northern where he worked 35 years, retiring in Willmar, Minn., where he resided for many years.

Jim is remembered by the twinkle in his eyes, his smiles, grins and laughter. He was known by many as Jimmy Jack.

Survivors include sisters, Judy Bauer (Dick) of Arizona, JoAnn Osterloh (Rod) of Minnesota, and Jacquie Jowers (Gary) of Arizona; brothers, Jack Jackson (Kathy) of Oregon, and Jere Jackson (Julie) of South Dakota; and 16 nieces and nephews.
