Nancy L. McBride, 92, of Peoria and formerly of Sioux City passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2022.
She was buried with her husband in Phoenix, Ariz.
Nancy was born Oct. 6, 1929, in Sioux City, the daughter of Celia Asmussen-Bogenrief and Ed Asmussen. She grew up in Sioux City, graduating from Leeds High School in 1947. She then attended Morningside College, and taught in the Des Moines school system.
Nancy married Jim McBride from Sioux City, and to that union they had five children.
She is survived by her sons, Jim (Hope) McBride, Jay (Sally) McBride, and John (Kathleen) McBride; daughters Jeanne (Bill) Brownlee, and Jo Ellen (Jeff) Simmons; sister Zana Johnson; brothers Neal (Sharon-deceased) Asmussen, and Tom (Jean) Asmussen; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and lifelong friend Mary Musselman.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; husband Jim McBride; sister Bonnie Martin; brother-in-law Roy Johnson.
