Ann Yourek
CHATHAM, IL - Ann Yourek, 76, died Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014, at her home in Chatham.
Ann was born to Wilfred and Hazel Rollet on Sept. 3, 1938, in Springfield. She graduated from Feitshans High School in 1956, and married George Yourek Jr. in 1960. George died in January of 2009 at age 73.
During her lifetime, Ann worked as an administrator at a number of local businesses, finishing her career at the Illinois Hotel and Lodging Association.
Ann is survived by her son, Mark Yourek (wife, Elizabeth), of Yorktown Heights, New York; daughter, Lynn Ward (husband, Michael), of Telluride, Colorado; brother, Wilfred Rollet (wife, Norma), of Peoria, Illinois; and by her grandchildren: Matthew Yourek and Anna, Kyle, Kolby and Madison Ward.
Also close to Ann were Carol and Dave Wieland, whose lifelong love and friendship she greatly treasured.
The family wishes to extend thanks to Dr. Gary Shull and Dr. Diana Willadsen, along with their many dedicated staff members, and to Shaquita Johnson, Deanna Peecher and Cynthia Wilson, who provided sensitive and professional in-home care during Ann's last illness. And our gratitude goes also to Vonnie and Bob Cox, Ann's indispensable neighbors, who lent us much practical and moral support during this time.
Friends and family are invited to gather for a memorial service at 5 p.m. followed by a catered reception on Thursday, Oct. 9 at Bisch Funeral Home West, 2931 Koke Mill Rd., Springfield. The family will meet friends from 4 p.m. until the time of service.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

My sympathy for the loss of your mother. I first met Anna at Iles Grade School and she remained a lifelong friend. She will be missed.
