MATTOON, IL - Dick L. Albright, 86, passed away at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 28, 2015, at Odd Fellow Rebekah Home.
Dick was born on June 11, 1929, in Decatur, Ill., the son of Herbert C. and Maude (Ashenfelter) Albright. He married Dalys Warkins on Nov. 16, 1957. She preceded him in death on Dec. 26, 2012.
Dick had a patriotic heart and served honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War.
He worked as a Right Away Agent at C.I.P.S. and retired in 1994 after 35 years of service.
Dick was a member of the Antioch Christian Church in Mt. Zion, Ill. He also served on the Babe Ruth Board and the Auxiliary Police in Springfield, Ill., for years.
Dick liked to hunt, fish and enjoyed the beauty of the outdoors. He treasured his time spent drawing and taking photos. Most of all, Dick loved spending time with his family and will be greatly missed.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his loving children, Kyla (John) Poplawski of Champaign, Ill., and Scott (Sonia) Albright of Robinson, Ill.; grandchildren, Morgan Poplawski, Dylan Poplawski, Kylynn Albright and Dalton Albright; dear childhood friend, Rosalie of Shelbyville, Ill. Visitation for family and friends will be from 11 a.m. until time of service Friday at the funeral home.
Funeral services honoring his life will begin at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, July 31, 2015, at Schilling Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.
