Dorothy Margaret Collie

SPRINGFIELD - Dorothy Margaret Collie, 90, of Springfield and formerly of Beardstown, died Saturday, December 3, 2011 at Lewis Memorial Christian Village in Springfield.

She was born June 25, 1921 in Beardstown, the daughter of Ernest L. and Grace Beard Lintner. She married Clyde F. Collie on September 4, 1939 in Union City, TN and he preceded her in death on February 17, 2002.

She is survived by one daughter Marcia (husband Norman) Burris of Springfield; two grandchildren Matthew (wife Beth) Scholes of Virginia and Shawn Collie of Austin, TX; and one great granddaughter Natalea Collie.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son Mark Collie, one brother Charles (surviving wife Helen of Beardstown) Lintner, and two sisters Betty Mallicoat and Evelyn Lintner.

Dorothy graduated from Beardstown High School in the class of 1939. She was currently a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Springfield and formerly a member at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Beardstown. While living in Beardstown Dorothy was involved in Cass County Home Extension Homemakers and the Beardstown Ladies. She was a homemaker, babysat in her home for many years, enjoyed traveling, and loved to sew.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, December 6, 2011, at Sager Funeral Home in Beardstown. Burial will be in the Beardstown City Cemetery. The family will meet with friends one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home on Tuesday.

Memorials have been suggested to St. John's Lutheran Church in Springfield.

Marcia, your Mother was a wonderful woman, I will miss her coming to church, with you, always a smile, and a great lady. She is in Heaven now with so many WONDERFUL PEOPLE. The latest is Pastor Houser, WoW. was Heaven ready for that this Year. LOL. Some day we will all meet again. Till then she is your Special Angel looking down on you this Christmas season. God Bless
