Edith Caruso Obituary
SPRINGFIELD, IL - Edith F. Caruso of Springfield died at 11:56 a.m., Friday, April 1, 2016, at Heritage Health.
She was born Aug. 18, 1925, in Springfield to John and Elizabeth (Tapocik) Durako. She married Anthony Caruso on Oct. 12, 1946, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 8, 2012.
Also preceding her in death were three sisters, Mary Steil, Agnes Veseling, and Anna Hardy, and one brother, John Durako.
Survivors include her sister-in-law, Betty Durako of Bellville, and several nieces and nephews.
Edith was a member of St. Aloysius Church, First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association, and Catholic Daughters of America.
She retired from the Illinois Department of Public Health after 41 years of service.
VISITATION: 4-7 p.m., Wednesday, April 6, 2016, at Staab Funeral Home.
FUNERAL MASS: 10 a.m., Thursday, April 7, 2016, at St. Aloysius Church with the Rev. Clinton Honkomp, O.P. officiating.
Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to: St. Aloysius Church or a charity of the donor's choice.

Anyone that knows Aunt Edith and Uncle Tony knows how special they were. She is where she was meant to be - with Uncle Tony for eternity. You are both loved and will be missed! Rest in peace.

To the family members,
I had the pleasure of meeting Edith and spending a few days with her while I was a patient at Heritage myself, and found her to be a delightful lady. May she now rest in the loving care of our Lord Jesus Christ and may all of you find peace and comfort in knowing that she will forever be in His presence.
