Ed was a wonderful man and a good friend. He was a great supporter of Big Band music and we spoke often about his brave service during the war and how much that music meant to him during those times. I can picture him in heaven now talking it up with Glenn Miller! Praying for peace for your family.

My fondest memories are of my friend Joe and his family.I think you had 9 and we had 8 siblings. We lived about 5 miles apart ,between woods and fields.I either gave the call or waited for Joe to call ,and we would say "Ill meet you at the bridge"which was a bunch of bricks some farmer put across the creek .It was a creek that was about half way between our houses. It was about 21/2 miles ,but when I got the call I was there ,fishing pole in hand .Joe beat me their once and a while, mostly because Id get sidetracked by a snake or something. When we were through fishing wed go to one or the others house for refreshments.I always loved to go to Joes house His mom and dad were peaches .His brothers were most younger and full of country boy stuff.I remember one time one of his brothers ,I think it was Ted .He'd follow us out into the field crawling in his diapers. He wanted to be with us.I think Mat was the first to show me how his little brother liked to eat worms. He fed them to him like a little momma bird. And I remember him saying,"see he likes them"And he ate them like a little bird. One after the other.I think I fed him a couple. That was my first experience of anybody eating worms. That memory has stayed with me ,as you can tell ,to this day.
His sisters were all over the farm and I only got to see glimpses of them most of the time. But when I stayed all night I always imagined that they all wanted me.I think a couple of them really did.
These were the fondness of my childhood memories. And they wouldn't have happened if it weren't for the love of Mr and Mrs Eck.
May God bless you as you have blessed me .
