Ernest R. Oglebay
SPRINGFIELD - Ernest R. Oglebay, 58, of Springfield, passed away on Sunday, July 22, 2012 at his home. He was born on August 4, 1953 in Springfield the son of Ernest and Maenevada Brooks Oglebay.
He married Deanna N. White on January 2, 1987. He served in the U.S. Navy and worked for Springfield Mass Transit District.
Ernest was a member of the N.R.A. and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert. Survived by his wife, Deanna M. Oglebay of Springfield; a step son, Thomas Grant (fiancée, Michelle Baptist) of Springfield; three sisters: Mary Spain of Pawnee, Maejean Hironio of Springfield, and Dorothy Oglebay; a brother, Jimmie Oglebay of Philadelphia, PA; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 25th from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral services at 11:00 a.m. at the Wilson Park Funeral Home in Rochester. Pastor Dennis Norton officiating with burial in Rochester Cemetery. The Inter-Veterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County will conduct military honors. I am truely sorry to hear of Rays passing, he was one of the drivers i would talk to when riding the bus the past 6 yrs. He always had a smile on his face and a kind word for everyone.
