My heart goes out to George's family and friends. May God surround you all with His comfort and peace at this emotionally difficult time.
I was George's patient when he first started practicing until he retired. He was a dentist who was very personable, honest, caring and would always give options for your care, offering pros & cons for each for each option
I lived in NY for many years and kept George as my dentist. I would schedule dental appointments or George would work me in for dental care while home.
A friend of mine was terrified of dentists because of unfortunate dental experiences when young. I finally convinced her to try George when she had problems and could no longer avoid going to a dentist. She arrived for her appointment extremely anxious. George offered to go out to his car to get his cell phone so she could call me to help her get through her appointment. She declined the offer. However, she quickly called me after her appointment explaining how gentle and kind he was. George continued as her dentist until her death.
I'm extremely sadden to hear of the death of this exceptional dentist and friend.

I am so saddened to hear of George's death. He was my dentist for years. Always caring & in good humor. I think I might've been his most difficult patient to work on. Many talks in that dental chair.
During these trying times, I hope he was surrounded by lots of family.
He will be truly missed. God's speed George.
Rest In Peace!!

He was our family dentist from childhood to adulthood, Ashland to Springfield. I later joined the army and even though I got free dental in the army, I still chose to see Dr Conour for concerns. He was a great dentist and person. I will miss him.

Doc and I shared more than just patient/dentist stuff. We had mutual acquaintances in Southern Illinois, tales of which we never exhausted. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. He was more than my dentist. He was my friend. Lord, have mercy....

My condolences to Georges family. I spent a lot of time in his chair as a young man. He not only was a good dentist, he also gave great advice and guidance. I moved away to the Chicago suburbs and got married. When I took my wife back to Ashland for a family funeral once, she commented that she thought the dentist in town could do a booming business. True to form, Dr. George came to the wake and I introduced him to my wife. We all shared a good chuckle and lightened the mood a bit.

The people of Ashland are SO sorry to hear this. George was well-liked and did good work. He tried to see that all left with a smile on their face, or at least in their heart.
God Bless you all with his Peace.
