Gwen Williams Obituary
Springfield, IL—Gwen Williams, 91, passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at The Mosaic. She was born January 09, 1926 in Trethomas, Bedwas Wales, UK, the daughter of Griffith S. and Gwenllian (Evans) Dorkins.
Mrs. Williams was employed by Franklin Life Insurance Co., retiring in 1987.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Springfield, member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary, A.A.R.P., and W.I.B.C. (Women's Bowling Congress).
Survivors include a son, Farrel D. "Doc" Williams (Wife Jo Ann) of Springfield, Illinois and daughter Keitha K. Wells (husband Larry) of Kingwood, TX, Four Grand-daughters, Doriann, Paula, Angela and Abigail, ten Great Grandchildren and one sister, Miriam Youngdale.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Awen, and four brothers, Gronwy, Ted, Glen and Ben Dorkins.
Visitation: 5:00 – 7:00 P.M., Monday, July 31, 2017 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.
Funeral Service: 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at Staab Funeral Home- Springfield with Reverend Mike Whitaker officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or a charity of the donor's choice.

Gwen was very kind heart and fun to bowl with!! I also knew her from ABWA. I hadn't seen her for quite awhile and called her several times and when I heard from her she didn't know me! I am very sorry for your loss!!! May God comfort all of you and may Qwen rest peacefully in the loving arms of the Lord! Love and prayers
