Henry G. "Jack" Reiter
LINCOLN, IL - Henry G. "Jack" Reiter, 92, passed peacefully on Saturday morning, Oct. 4, 2014, with his family by his side at Timber Creek Village in Lincoln.
Jack was born Nov. 12, 1921, to Katherine Hartwig and Noel Reiter in Monroe City, Mo. They later moved to Quincy, Ill. Jack had three siblings, Harold Reiter, Mary Scheiter and Julia Brill. He married Hilda Walker on Oct. 25, 1946, and she preceded him in death in April 1998.
Jack is survived by an only child, Connie (Robert) Burns of Lincoln; grandson, Jeffrey (Penny) Bailey of Lincoln; granddaughter, Sherilyn (Martin) Leka of Illiopolis; three great-granchildren, Naomi Bailey, Benjamin and Angela Leka. Six nephews and two nieces survive.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, two sisters and one niece.
Jack served in the U.S. Army from 1942-1946. Jack retired from Myers Industries after 18 years as an installation superintendent.
Services for Henry "Jack" Reiter will be held Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2014, at Lummis Funeral Home in Pleasant Hill, Ill., at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour before the funeral. Burial will be at Crescent Heights Cemetery in Pleasant Hill.
