Josette Donnelly Obituary
Melbourne, FL—It is with great sadness that the family of Josette Donnelly announces her passing after an unexpected illness, on Wednesday, September 27, 2017. Josette will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 64 years, Jim, Sr. and her children, Jim, Jr (Springfield IL), Kathleen (Chuck) Gowin (Hilton Head Island SC), Tracy (Ed) Svihla (Jacksonville FL) and John (Pam) Donnelly (Rockford IL). Josette will also be fondly remembered by her two grandchildren, Ashlee (John) Cleve and Shaun, as well as two great grandchildren, Easton and Emery Cleve. She is survived by two brothers, Jerry and Lyle Schenk and her brother-in-law, Bill Donnelly. Josette was predeceased by her parents Theodore and Clara Schenk, brother, Theodore Schenk and her sister, Helen Crull.
Josette had many joys in her life. Her love of arts & crafts can be seen adorning the walls in the homes of her children. She held a special place in her heart for her two great grandchildren, one of whom is prominent on her Facebook page. But above all else, her commitment to her husband and her children will long be remembered after this sad day is but a memory. A special thank you to the nurses at St. Francis Hospice.
Josette was a volunteer for Lincoln Memorial Gardens, The Springfield Jayshees, Doctor's Hospital, Crafty Ladies of Holy Name Church, former president of the Springfield Chess Club and vice-president of the Illinois Chess Association.
A private family religious service will be held at a later date. Those who so desire may make memorial donations in memory of Josette to Aging Matters in Brevard, 3600 W. King St., Cocoa FL, 32926.

Josette looks like the Josette I worked with at Sangamon State University in the Office of Financial Aid. She went by Jodi. If this is the same Josette, I remember her decorating skills and her friendly personality. She was always ready to share a smile and a word of encouragement. My sincere sympathy.
