Krystal Ellen LaReese-Gaule
SPRINGFIELD - Krystal Ellen LaReese-Gaule of Springfield, IL, 53, entered into eternal peace on March 16, 2013, at her home following a brief battle with lung cancer. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends.
Krystal was born April 23, 1959, in Pontiac, MI, the daughter of James LaReese and Barbara Greer. She attended school in Greenview, IL, graduating in 1977. Krystal married her best friend and soul mate, Michael Gaule, on November 27, 2003, in a sunset ceremony in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
Following a career in concessions management with GKC Theatres, Krystal joined Kernel Season's popcorn seasoning as its National Sales Manager in 2005. She was an active member of the National Association of Concessionaires and previously held positions on their board. Krystal loved her work and it showed. Known for her warmth, contagious smile and outgoing personality, she was a natural salesperson and quickly made a name for herself in the concession and movie theatre industries. She acquired more than customers and business associates - she made true friends of all those she came in contact with throughout the US and abroad
Krystal enjoyed spending time with her grandsons, traveling, golfing, reading, playing games, swimming and entertaining. Family and friends were always welcomed at her home and, in warmer weather, to her backyard oasis, also referred to as her "Paradise."
In addition to her husband and parents, Krystal is survived by two sons: Joshua Renken of Mason City, IL, and Jesse Renken of Carmel, IN; one daughter, Samantha (John) Jones of Springfield, IL; two grandsons, Keith Renken and Cameron Jones; sisters: Kasey (Rick) Reim of Springfield, IL, Lacey (Michael) Johnston of Oklahoma City, OK, Nikki (Ralph) Starr of Dallas, TX, Ronni LaRees of Seatle, WA, and Tonya (Adrian) Aragon of Dallas, TX; brother, Rod LaReese of Pontiac, Ml; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Kraig Haimbaugh, and grandparents.
Private family services will be held. A Celebration of Life Service is being planned for a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
