ASSUMPTION, IL - Lee Ellis Dexheimer, 60, formerly of Taylorville, Ill., died at 5:39 a.m., Friday, Aug. 7, 2015, at his home
He was born Nov. 11, 1954, in Taylorville, the son of John Phillip and Dorothy Eugenia Walter Dexheimer. On Oct. 25, 1986, he married Denise Kay Hoffman at First Baptist Church in Taylorville.
Lee had been employed at Borg-Warner in Decatur and Hydrogear in Sullivan in Research and Development. Most recently he was a substance abuse counselor at the Taylorville Correctional Center.
He was a member of Taylorville Christian Church.
Surviving are his wife: Denise Dexheimer of Assumption; daughter, Alyssa Dexheimer of Assumption; son, John Dexheimer (fiancée, Taylor Pashia) of Vandalia, Mo.; and twin brother, Lynn A. Dexheimer of Morrisonville.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother in infancy.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Monday at McClure Funeral Home in Taylorville.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 11 at Taylorville Christian Church with the Rev. James Jones and the Rev. Dick Wamsley officiating.
Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery.
