I knew Mark, his sister Trudy and parents Don and Jean from the Springfield Muni years. Mark was always fun to be with. He added humor or a quick joke when our small musical/acting group of friends were out and about on the town after our Muni shows. Mark was also a very talented percussionist. He played for many of our musicals and for the Marching Illini. Rest In Peace, Mark.

Mark was one of a kind—witty, talented, loyal, and a great conversationist. He, Trudy and a close group of us from the Muni, had many fun years together, performing in the shows at Muni and Theater Guild, hanging out at Booker's singing and eating the best cheeseburgers ever, and of course the unforgettable Muni parties. We took treks to St. Louis for the Cub-Cards baseball games and partied at the U. of I. They were the best of times in Springfield. Thanks for the memories, Mark.

Mark was such a kind, talented, joyful person. I had the chance to play in one orchestra with him at The Muni and so enjoyed connecting with him. We actually discovered that we were cousins, so it was especially joyful to find the treasure of a family member and a musical colleague.

Deepest sympathies to all who loved Mark.

It is so sad to hear this. Mark, or Boom-Boom, as we usually called him, grew up with a group of us at the Muni in Springfield. He was in the orchestra pit, playing drums, and at all the parties. A great Cub fan, we would entertain each other with outlandish stories and jokes to and from Cub games in Chicago and St. Louis. Trudy, I am so sorry for your loss.

Worked with Mark for years at Champaign Police Dept.
Marks dad Don and my dad were fraternity brothers at Purdue.
My thoughts are with you Trudy.

I knew Mark from many years of working together at the Champaign County Regional Planning Commission. We will all miss his wry sense of humor, precision, and dedication to a job well done. With heartfelt condolences,

What a great guy! We found out all the common ground we had in the Champagne/Urbana area, and talked til we were blue in the face about music and the U of I campus! May you RIP, Mark!!

This makes me sad. I always enjoyed gigging with Mark at Muni Opera and he was just a fun guy to be around. So sorry for your loss Trudy.
