Springfield, IL—Patsy Louise Smith, 78, of Springfield, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018 at her home.
She was born on May 13, 1939 in Springfield, the daughter of the late George Harrison and Velma Ilene (Sperry) Smith. She married Richard Wayne Smith, Sr. on March 31, 1956 in Springfield and he preceded her in death on July 19, 2013.
Patsy enjoyed crocheting, gardening, shopping, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by 8 children, Susan (husband John) Powers of Buckhart, IL, John Smith of Springfield, Randy (wife Teresa) Smith of Normal, IL, Richard (wife Linda) Smith, Jr. of Springfield, Kathy "Tate"(husband David) Patrick of Rochester, IL, Greg "Foog" Smith of Springfield, Samantha Marta of Springfield, and Jerry Smith of Springfield; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her 2 sisters, Barbara Henn and Sharon Hupp, both of Auburn, IL.
Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a stillborn child, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, 3 brothers, and 1 sister.
Services are under the direction of Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 E. Allen, Springfield, where a memorial service will be held on Monday, Feb. 12, 2018 at 1 pm, with Rev. Charlie Carver officiating. Per her wishes, cremation rites were accorded.
Memorials may be made to the Ronald McDonald House.
