Patty Leischner Obituary
Petersburg, IL—Patty Ann Leischner, 76, of Petersburg, IL, passed away at Sunny Acres Nursing Home on July 30, 2017, at 10:38 A.M. She was born on June 22, 1941, to Clifford and Mary (Kupfer) Vette in Beardstown, IL. She married John Leischner in Chandlerville, IL, on December 10, 1961.
Patty is survived by a son; David (Kim) Leischner of Petersburg, IL, a daughter; Suzy (Rick) King of Glen Carbon, IL, three grandchildren; Brett (Lindsey) Leischner, Brad Leischner, and Amy (Sam) Ernst, two great-grandchildren; Barrett Leischner and Lydia Ernst, one sister; Carolyn Sieving, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
Patty was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Springfield, IL. She worked along-side her husband as a farmer, she was a domestic engineer, head of her household and loved baking pies.
Visitation will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 220 S. 2nd St., Springfield, IL, from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. on Tuesday, August 1, 2017. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 11 A.M. with Pastor Thomas Radtke officiating.
Immediately following the service there will be a luncheon at the Trinity Lutheran School, 515 S. MacArthur St., Springfield, IL, in the Parish Hall. A graveside service will follow the luncheon at Oakland Cemetery in Petersburg, IL, also with Pastor Thomas Radtke officiating.

Our heartfelt sympathy to the Leischner family. Patty was a wonderful Christian person who truly lived her Christian beliefs. She joins John to celebrate the joys of heaven and eternity. She was an inspiration to so many but she and John were monumental in a decision to send our children to Lutheran High School. We will both always cherish the lifelong memories they left upon our lives. Rest in Peace Patty - you deserve it!

I really enjoyed working with this Loveing and careing family, the 1 christmas the best when they invited me to take care of a member of there family, and welcomed me in to there christmas dinner and played games, it was so beautiful seeing a awesome family get together like that. i am very proud to say that i know these wonderful people. god bless .
