Rex Monroney

Rex Monroney, age 86, passed away April 6, 2011, in Sun City West, AZ. A family service was held at the Camino Del Sol Funeral Home, Sun City West.

Rex was born in Oblong, Illinois and attended Oblong High School. He married Maxine Warder on June 22, 1946, they resided in Springfield, IL and Quincy, IL until 1984. Rex was a veteran of WWII having served in the Army Air Corp from 1942-1946. He worked for Illinois Bell Tele-phone and AT&T for 35 years in Springfield and Quincy. He retired with Maxine in 1984 to Hot Springs Village, AR. They were members of Kirk in the Pines Presbyterian Church in Hot Springs Vil-lage.

Rex is survived by his daughter Radene and her husband Kenneth of Sur-prise, AZ, son Michael Mon-roney of Santa Fe, NM, granddaughters Melyssa and Keelan Dehart of Springfield, IL, grandson Ken Crawford and great-grandson Louis Maxwell Crawford of Springfield, IL and grandson Mathew and Teresa McQueen-Crawford of Chicago, IL.

Interment will be in Hot Springs Village, AR. In lieu of flowers the family sug-gests that memorial dona-tions may be made to: Hos-pice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ 85014 or online at hov.org.
