Thomas Redpath Obituary
SPRINGFIELD - Thomas E. Redpath II, 47, of Springfield passed away Monday, Nov. 17, 2008.
He was born Oct. 26, 1961, in Springfield, the son of Thomas E. and Shirley Guimard Redpath. He was preceded in death by his father.
Thomas worked as an electrician with IBEW Local 193. He loved spending time with his kids and grandkids. He loved dogs and babies and was a great father and grandpa. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and four wheelers in his free time. He also loved music and cars.
He is survived by his son, Thomas E. Redpath III of Springfield; daughter, Lynae Redpath of Springfield; and their mother, Lisa Redpath of Springfield; two stepsons, Stephen Rexroad and Patrick Rexroad, both of Riverton; mother, Shirley Redpath of Springfield; two brothers, Scott Redpath and Darin Redpath, both of Springfield; three sisters, Shelly Redpath and Rose Bartolomucci, both of California, and Trisha Redpath of Decatur; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial gathering will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family of Thomas E. Redpath II, care of Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home.

I will miss tom so much and so will his friends and family I only nkew him for about two months before he passed but in that time I found out that he was one of the nicest and for sure one of the most funniest guys i ever met kaylee me nancy and christa will miss him very much I miss him so much and im glad i got to know him for those two months

Tom meant the world to me my mom Krista and my little brother Blake. He more of a father to me then anyone. I miss his warm smile, his laugh..theres not a day that goes by that i dont think about you Tom. We miss you and love more then anything. You really did mean the world to me..I feel like I'm in a nightmare hoping someday I wake up at moms and ur there making breakfast with that cute smile. I love you Tom..and don't ever forget that.

I am so sad to hear the news of Tom's passing. I have felt like part of the family since I was in elementary school and I have many fond memories growing up with Lynae and her entire family. Tom was always the greatest guy and had such a loving heart toward me and everyone. His presence will be greatly missed. I am so sorry and I will keep you all in my thoughts.

I can still remember him when we lived in Walnut Valley years ago, He was a good dad and loved working on things, in fact, we still have a stool that he made for Tonna and Patrick that my grankids use now. I grew up with Tom and have always known him to be full of life and living it to the fullest. He was a good person that I always respected. Quick to smile and laugh, lend a helping hand that didn't have to be asked.
They don't make 'em like that anymore.

Papa I miss you as much as anything in the world. You mean the world to me. I would love when you use to take us on rides on any of your stuff or just invite us over for dinner. Mom and dad know you cared about us. You are a great cook. I still have the gutar tommy gave me and the one you taught me how to play on. I also remeber when you tryed to beat everone on gutar hero. I am so sorry to hear that Tom has passed. He was always a good union brother to me, even as an apprentice (back in the days when apprentices were the next best thing to dirt). When my daughter was born prematurely, he'd lift my spirits by telling me she'll be just fine, that he had a stepson who was a preemie and everything would be ok. He will be sorely missed by Local 193.

No words can file the emptiness you must be feeling but knowing there are a lot of people that loved Tommy can help ease the pain. Dad you made me laugh with all your jokes and imitations of people. You made me smile everytime you took the girls for rides on the tractor or just gave them something small to show you cared about them I know I wasnt a biological son but that never mattered. I felt as though my heart was ripped out finding out that my good friend Tommy has passed. He was a customer of mine at the downtown Starbucks. He would bring us breakfast burritos and other foods that he made at home. I will truly, truly miss Tommy's infectious smile and his way of always making you laugh. I would give anything to see him again. I hope that the Redpath famliy find peace in the coming days and weeks in this sad and troubling time.

Tommy and I worked together at St. John's for many years. He was always upbeat and smiling. I hadn't seen him in years, but just happened to run into him this past weekend at a restaurant. We talked for a few minutes about what we had been up to since the last time we saw each other. It hit me hard this morning seeing his obituary in the paper. I am so glad that I got to see him one last time. To his family, I offer my sincerest condolences. He had a contagious smile, and knew had to make you laugh!
