AMY TROHA Obituary

Amy, 91, was born to David & Grace (Prichard) Krause in Mount Vernon, WA. Amy was raised in Anacortes, WA and always said she lived a unique life. One of her favorite past times was walking from Anacortes to Deception Pass for the day. Imagine that!

She met the love of her life, Matt Troha, a CCC boy from Ohio. They married October 1939. Besides raising fours sons, they also raised strawberries and cucumbers. Amy used to drive a 1939 orange bus from their Bow farm to Anacortes to pick up the strawberry pickers. Many of the workers still remember that old bus.

During WWII Amy volunteered to be a Coastal Watcher.

Her Catholic faith was always a very important part of her life as was her family.

She was preceded in death by her mother, father, sister (Ida), husband (Matt of 60 years) and three sons (Mickey, William & Christopher).

She is survived by her son, David Troha (Barbara) Stanwood, sister-in-law, Molly Dill, Chardon, Ohio; grandchildren, Christi (Kris) Kinney, Bow, Cathi Troha, Seattle, Ashley (Behr) Troha-Ibarra, Burlington, & Alicia Troha, Bellingham; stepgranddaughter, Barbara Bacon-Slama; stepgrandsons, Geo & Robert Bacon; her nieces, Judy (Vic) Jensen, & JoAnn (Rich) Welling; five great-grandchildren, Alex, Jake, McKayla, Nick, & Rio; three grand nephews & two grand nieces.

Memorial services will be held at St. Charles Church, 935 Peterson Rd., Burlington, WA 98233 on Wednesday, May 23, at 6:00p.m. Reception to follow immediately after services.

Remembrances, in lieu of flowers, are suggested to be sent to St. Charles Catholic Church Building Fund, Burlington, WA.

Mom,
I will forever miss you. You were a loving, kind Mother-In-Law. You helped me through so many difficult times. Your giving spirit was an inspiration to me and you taught me more about what it is to be a lover of Christ through your daily life. You had such strong faith and a positive, down to earth attitude. You and I used to sit and talk for hours. We had many laughs and many good times. I love you Mom. Rest in peace dear Amy.
