Aundrea Pippel Obituary

Mount Vernon - Aundrea "Andy" Pippel

Aundrea "Andy" Pippel, 73, a long term resident of the Skagit Valley, went to be with Jesus on June 8, 2021 at Home Place in Burlington.

She was born on October 28, 1947 in Bellingham, WA, the daughter of John and Jo (Geleynse) Vander Pol. She was raised in Mount Vernon, attended Mount Vernon Christian School, and graduated in 1965 from Mount Vernon High School. She went on to attend Reformed Bible College (Now Kuyper College) in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She also attended Pine Rest Nursing program in Grand Rapids, and then completed her Nursing Degree at Skagit Valley College. Andy continued her education for Enterostomal therapy at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio.

For 37 years Andy worked as a registered Nurse practitioner at the Skagit Valley Hospital and the Skagit Valley Medical Center. She loved her job as a nurse and impacted countless people throughout her nursing career.

On October 2, 1981, Andy married Bob Pippel of Holland, Michigan. The couple had two children and were faithful partners to the very end. Andy was a faithful lifelong member of the First Christian Reformed church in Mount Vernon.

In Andy's spare time she enjoyed gardening and spending time outside. She loved going for walks and geocaching with her husband. When she could, she loved seeing her grandkids and was especially proud of them. Andy loved to travel and see new places, from her cross country trip with friends, a trip to Mexico to see her sister before she was married, and all the way to Israel to volunteer with her husband Bob. She loved to volunteer and give back to her community.

Andy is survived by her husband Bob Pippel of Mount Vernon; son Curt Pippel of Mount Vernon; daughter Carlene (Josh) Van Schouwen of Waukegan, IL and their children, Faith, Claire, John and Ben Van Schouwen; sister Sharon (James) Heneveld; brother Ken (Karen) Vander Pol of Michigan; brother-in-law Howard (Mary) Pippel and sister-in-law Karen Vander Meulen; many nieces and nephews from Michigan and many cousins in Lynden, WA. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Jo Vander Pol and two brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law.

Andy's Memorial service will take place Monday, June 14th at 1:30 pm at the First Christian Reformed Church in Mount Vernon.

Bob and family,
So sorry for your loss. Just one memory of Andy. In August of 1968 Andy and I boarded a train in Everett, WA headed for Grand Rapids Michigan where we both attended RBI better known as Kuyper College. It was my first year and I think it was Andy´s second or third year. What a train ride that was for us, it was fun but seemed to go on for ever. I was very happy to be able to go back with Andy, a seasoned traveler at that time, for my first trip across country to attend college.
Thank You Andy for being there fo me in August of 1968.
Till we meet again in Heaven.

A very fond memory of many, many years ago was the times we would go to their house and have a whole community of paper dolls between us five girls (Sharon, Andy, Tonnie, Thea, and me). What fun we had!!!

Also, I know from working with one of Andy's colleagues down South, how very much her skill at wound care was appreciated. She made such a difference in so many lives!!! May you feel the blessings of God's comfort!!!

Andy was my first cousin and not quite a year younger than myself. We moved to the other side of the mountains when we were about 2 and we didn´t get to see each other often unless we went to visit Grandma in Lynden. We saw her more when we were old and our parents went deer and elk hunting and we would join them. She will be missed. Prayers to the family for comfort.
