BETH CAMP Obituary

SEATTLE - Beth Ann Van Camp was born on February 7, 1953 in Mount Vernon Washington to her loving and devoted parents Leland and Dolores Van Camp and passed away at home in Seattle, February 21, 2024.

At age 7, in 1960, she moved with her family to Seattle. She attended and graduated from Ballard High School. From an early age Beth wanted to be a nurse and as a result she attended UW, ultimately graduating from Shoreline Community College with her R.N. She began her nursing career at Cabrini Hospital in Seattle, moving to Swedish Hospital and continuing her career. In the late 1990's Beth attended and graduated in 1998 from Seattle Pacific University earning her BSN; ADN, becoming Nurse Manager at Swedish. Following her career at Swedish, she continued her career as a Nursing Program Recruiter for Seattle Pacific University. She retired in 2018.

Beth was a devoted nurse and daughter. Following her father's passing Beth purchased the family home, living with her mother Dolores for several years before Dolores moved into a retirement community.

She enjoyed her career and the many enduring friendships she made throughout her life. During her life Beth enjoyed travel. Her favorite destination was Hawaii, especially Kaanapali on Maui. She also enjoyed spending time with her family at the family cabin at Juniper Beach. When she could, she also enjoyed Arizona for Seattle Mariner Spring Training. She was an avid fan and Mariner Season Ticket holder.

She was preceded in death by her parents Leland "Van" and Dolores Van Camp.

She is survived by her brother Jim Van Camp and his wife Fern Van Camp of Camano Island, WA, as well as numerous cousins in Western Washington and Tennessee.

A remembrance of Beth's life will be held later this spring/summer 2024.

I was a surgical nurse for a group of eye surgeons (Eye Associates NW).
Beth was the circulating nurse in many of our cases. She was so capable & smart, friendly & caring.
I have so many happy memories of working with Beth. My condolences to her family & friends.

I went through Loyal Heights Elementary School with Beth Van Camp. I have never forgotten her presence. Always, Beth was kind, gentle, and calm. She had a healing
presence-she really did! It was no surprise to me that she became a nurse.
I feel sad to learn of her passing-the world is the poorer without her
here. A beautiful soul she will always be
