FLOYD HINTZ Obituary

Floyd G. Hintz, 72, a resident of Birdsview, WA passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at Providence Hospital in Everett.

He was born on February 18, 1943 on the White Earth Indian reservation in Minnesota, the son of Floyd & Maxine (Hodder) Hintz. In 1944 the family moved to Seattle, WA, settling in the Ballard community where he was raised.

In 1959 at the age of 16 he enlisted into the U.S. Marines and served on a war ship protecting American shores during the Bay of Pigs and the Cuban Missile Crisis. He served his country until 1963.

He then returned to the Seattle area where he worked in construction and mostly as a commercial fisherman in Alaskan waters for many years. Floyd has called the Skagit Valley his home for over 30 years.

Floyd loved being outdoors, going fishing and camping and sitting around the campfire with family & friends and was affectionately known as "3 Trees".

Floyd is survived by his wife Deanna; daughters, Arin & Erica; brothers, Greg, Dennis, Darryl and Brian Hintz; sisters, Barbara Vest, Patti Hintz, Diane Hintz, Margo Massingale, Monica Peters, Debra Bazinet and Mary Wold; 6 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews & many loving cousins in White Earth, MN.

He was preceded in death by his father, Floyd H. Hintz and mother & step-father, Maxine & Kenneth Kjorsvick; brother, Thomas Hintz and son, Jordan Hintz.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, February 23, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley. A Life Celebration fellowship gathering will be held at a later date.

Deanna and family of Floyd, we have been neighbors for several years and on family walks Floyd would always be in the yard working and stop just to come out by the road and say hello and see how we were doing. My deepest sympathy and condolences during this difficult time.
