Frances Nicholson passed away October 3, 2009 at Harbor Point Adult Care from Myastenia Gravis.

Frances was born at Tacoma General Hospital June 29, 1924. Graduated from Stadium High School, 1941. She was a model and singer as well as working at AT & T operations department.

She married her high school sweetheart, Alan Nicholson after WWII in Tacoma on June 22, 1946. They went on and started their family and had three girls, Christine, Deborah, and Brynn. Frances taught Sunday School for sixteen years and was also in a Tacoma Orthopedic Guild, where she was a leader. She started the first annual all city Orthopedic Square Dance that lasted for many years. She was a great mother and homemaker.

She and Alan began traveling to Mexico and Hawaii. One of the first cruise was from Montreal, Canada with many stops along the East U.S. coast, through many Caribbean Islands, through the Panama Canal to San Diego. They also cruised in China for three weeks and also to Alaska. Another highlight was going to Eygpt and cruising the Nile. They toured Australia and New Zealand for six weeks by auto. England, Spain and Portugal were other favorite trips. Sailing was always a favorite, expecially taking off each year for a month in the Canadian Islands and the west side of Vancouver Island. Their winters were being spent in Sun City West, Arizona.

She lived for 27 years at Shelter Bay and enjoyed many friends and fond memories.

A service will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 1717 Bellevue Way, Bellevue, WA at 1:00 on Monday, October 12th.

Dear Al and Family,
We send our most sincere condolences to you all. The many wonderful memories that Lee and I have shall always be cherished. As we think of the Picnic gatherings, R.V. travels, Sailboat excursions, New Years Eve Celebrations, and Golfing games, to name a few, we shall think of Fran. She was a dear friend, whom we loved. We shall miss her.
