Gerald Lyle Soderlind, age 89, of La Conner, WA passed away peacefully at Homeplace Memory Care in Burlington, WA surrounded by family. "Jerry" as he was affectionately known, was born and raised in Mount Vernon, WA where he attended MVHS and later joined the United States Coast Guard in 1952. While active in the military Jerry met and married the love of his life Margie Bartley on March 10, 1956. They were lifelong companions and blessed with three daughters together. He later became a firefighter on Whidbey Island Navy base until retirement.

In his spare time Jerry enjoyed the simplest pleasures in life, such as hunting, fishing, camping, and taxidermy. Doing these activities while spending quality time with all of his grandkids brought him the greatest joy. It's safe to say the wilderness was his home away from home.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Henry Soderlind & Grace Moore, and his "Ol' Lady" Margie Soderlind. Those left to cherish his memory include his brother Jim Soderlind, sister Jackie Gustafson, Daughters Kathy Soderlind, Kristi Chavez & Karla Smyth. Grandchildren Nicole Payne, Ashley Houston, Jerry Fernando, Alicia Solano, Kyle Smyth & Eric Smyth and 10 great grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at Pioneer Park, La Conner, August 14th, 2pm-4pm.
