JAMES ROBERT ENSLEY

1933 - 2025

Sedro Woolley - Born to Annalee and Clarence Ensley in Cullowhee, NC. Moved to Lyman area at the age of 5. Graduated Sedro-Woolley High School 1952. Drafted into the Army 1953 and served until 1955. Started Ensley Bros. Logging with his brother Bill which operated for over 40 years. Married Shirley Gustofson in 1956 and together they had 4 children, Cathie, Rod, Ray (Tammy), and Christie (Jim). He and Shirley began square dancing in 1974 until she passed in 1982. He then met and married Lorraine (Reiter) Ensley later that year. They added her two daughters Annette Medford (Ron) and Stacy (Moody) Anderson (Bob). Their big beautiful family, which he truly loved, grew and grew to what it is today. 11 grandchildren: Michele Rankin (Bill), Bryan Ensley (Janalee), Stacie Horey, Jessica Ensley, Rayanna MacElveen (Marty), Owen Ensley, Nick Reiter (Tammy), Bobbi Medford (Joey), Heidi Aldridge (Lincoln), Dallas Jimenez (Omar), and Dalton Moody (Amy). 22 great-grandchildren: Ethan Baker (Andi), Neomi Davidson, Josie Horey, Catherine Baker, Aliza Baker, Arayla Singh, Jade Ensley, Gage Horey, Evangelina Singh, Cora Ensley, Annabelle Ensley, Madden MacElveen, Ellis MacElveen, Dean Ensley, Tyler Reiter (Katelyn), Grace Reiter, Monty Drysdale, Cameron Reiter, Harrison Drysdale, Lincoln Aldridge, Penelope Jimenez, and Joey Rain Aldridge. 4 great-great-grandchildren: Luna, Evelyn, Kennedy and Robert Baker.

Jim and Lorraine continued to square and round dance for 38 years. They also bought a small yacht and boated the San Juan Islands throughout the late 1980's. They then bought a motorhome and traveled south as well as Alaska for several years. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman.

He is proceeded in death by his parents, his first wife Shirley, his daughter Cathie, his stepson Nick Reiter, his brother Bill and his sister Shirley Hyatt. A Celebration of life will be held Sunday December 7th, 2025, 1:00pm at 303 East Jones Rd. in Sedro Woolley
