Mary Jane Reinholt

1921 - 2007

A beautiful woman passed away at her home on North Beach, Guemes Island, Washington on April 21, 2007, surrounded by her loving family. She was Mary Jane Reinholt, beloved wife and mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, aunt and friend.

Born on November 23, 1921 to Teresa and William Rausch in Anacortes, Washington, she attended Anacortes Elementary and Middle schools. She met her husband, Richard "Wayne" Reinholt at Bellingham High School.

They married in 1947 and lived in Seattle, San Francisco, Honolulu, and Tacoma while raising three children. Mary Jane was an immensely talented gardener, master bridge player, and golfer. She was an avid reader and enjoyed meditation.

Mom was known for her quick wit, compassion, and admired for her sense of style and her thirst for knowledge. There was never a dull moment when you were in her presence. Your spirit and legacy will live forever amongst all who so deeply loved you.

Mary Jane was preceded in death by her brother, Jack Ross.

She is survived by her husband, Wayne; their three children, Teresa Wainman (Daryl) of Los Angeles, CA, John Reinholt (Tracey) of Portland, OR, and Patrick Reinholt (Julie) of Indianola, WA; grandchildren, Eli Wainman, Ethan Wainman, Mari-Frances Bentvelzen (Chris), Hannah and Healy Reinholt; and her "other daughter" (niece) Sally Ross Riordan (Tim) and their children, Courtney (Doug), Brittany, Tim (Amy) and John; and her nephew, Jerry Ross and his children, Jack, Emma, and Alice.

A memorial service will be held from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m., Saturday, May 26, 2007 at the Guemes Island Community Center. Remembrances may be made to the Skagit Hospice Foundation, PO Box 1376, Mount Vernon, WA 98273 or to the Guemes Island Fire Department, 6310 Guemes Island Road, Anacortes, WA 98221.
