Robert Eberle Obituary

La Conner - Robert Dean "Bob" Eberle, 89, passed away on January 10, 2024, at his waterfront home in La Conner, WA. Although Bob moved to Washington as a Boeing engineer, his true passion was public service and political involvement. Most recently, Bob was an Anacortes Port Commissioner (2012-2016). He previously served in the administrations of Presidents Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush and was elected to three terms in the Washington State House of Representatives. Bob worked on many campaigns and served in various leadership roles in the Republican Party, including as president of the Skagit County Republican Party. He was a fierce and conservative American patriot.

Bob was a devout Christian and active church member, most recently attending Trinity Anglican Church in Mount Vernon, WA. He was confident of his salvation and is at peace in heaven. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only-begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life." John 3:16.

Bob was born in St. Joseph, MO, the son of Adolph and Emma Eberle. Bob earned his undergraduate degree in engineering from the Rolla School of Mines and his master's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Alabama. Bob was an enthusiastic Bama football fan, a trait he passed on to his children and grandchildren, several of whom also attended Alabama.

Early 2000, Bob relocated to beautiful Skagit Valley with his wife, Claire. Bob started working as the Western VP for Bruce W. Eberle & Associates, located in Washington, DC, a direct mail house business owned by Bob's younger brother. The Bruce W. Eberle company was a premier fundraiser on the national scene for conservative, religious, and political groups and campaigns. It was a perfect place for Bob to work because it embodied all the American values both Bob and Claire held dear.

Bob was a loving husband, and Claire will miss her partner in the quest to defend freedom for all Americans.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on May 18, 2024, at the Trinity Anglican Church in Mount Vernon, followed by a Reception.

The family requests that those wishing to remember Bob can donate to Trinity Anglican Church (1200 Cleveland Ave, Mount Vernon WA 98273), the Foundation for Economic Education, Atlanta Georgia, or Hillsdale College, MI.

Arrangements are in the care of Evans Funeral Chapel & Crematory Inc. of Anacortes, WA.

"God bless America, and God bless you all." - Bob Eberle.

What a fine American Mr. Eberle was! He understood the importance of freedom and the need to speak in its defense. At the Foundation for Economic Education, we are forever appreciative of the model patriot that he was and we send our deepest condolences to his family and friends.
