ROBERT MESSER Obituary
Cleve grew up in Marblemount and Concrete Washington and attended Concrete high school. In high school he was an amazing football player. He even had big name scouts looking at him but he chose to take a different path in life and joined the army in 1968. He spent three and a half years serving in the Army and was honorably discharged.
Cleve was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. His favorite time of every year was hunting season. He spent the last 30 plus years hunting deer and elk on Stampede Pass and never missed a year. He loved the hunt but also he loved his hunting buddies, camping and spending time by the campfire telling stories. He also had a love for sprintcar racing. On Friday and Saturday nights you would find him at the racetrack. Anyone that knew him knows he loved his trucks. He enjoyed fixing them up to be different from all the others. He would only be seen driving them clean and fully detailed. He definitely took pride in always having one of the nicest trucks around.
Cleve was a very loving and giving man. Always going out of his way to help others whether he knew them or not. Making people smile and helping others is what made him happy and truly brought him joy.
Cleve is survived by his brother Charles Messer, daughter Rachel Messer (Roger), son Jeromy Messer (Tuesdee), daughter Carolyn Young (Todd), son Skip Messer and brother in-law William Hoover. He is also survived by his grandchildren that he adored Ryder Jacobson, Tanner Jacobson, Camden Messer, Spencer Constance and Addison Young.
He is proceeded in death by his parents Elmer Messer and Helen Youndt, stepfather Harold Youndt, brothers Kenneth Messer and Roger Messer, sister Linda Hoover, sister in-law Donna Messer and nephew Thomas Messer.
Our family would like to send a special thank you to Dr Bruce Mathey and staff at Skagit Regional Health Cancer Care Center.
A celebration of Cleve's life will be held on July 10, 2021 1 pm at 6254 Fruitdale Rd in Sedro Woolley, Wa.
