Robert Stratton Obituary
Stanwood - Stanwood WA.- Robert (Bob) E. Stratton Sr. fell asleep in death in the morning, May 20th, 2023 at the age of 89. He was so proud that he was almost 90 years old.
He was born Nov. 5th, 1933 to Elgin and Hazel Stratton in San Diego CA.
He was married to his lifelong wife, Adeline in June 1957. They would have celebrated the 66th Anniversary this year.
He leaves his wife Adeline in Stanwood, their sons, Robert Jr. (Debra) of Hemet Ca, Donald (Pam) of Camano Island and Ronald (Barb) in Stanwood. Also 11 Grandchildren, and 23 Great grandchildren. He was very proud of his family and the huge "flock" of Grandkids and Great Grandchildren. Not one family gathering passes that his grandchildren don't reminisce of being with grandpa on the farm.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, Elgin and Hazel, his brother Elgin Jr., two sisters, Shirley Ochs and Carol Palmer and his daughter in law Tanya Stratton.
Bob was a great lover of animals and especially chickens and Bald Eagles. He loved to watch them and loved his "egg business". He also loved raising cattle, hogs, chickens, ducks, pigeons, geese, rabbits and anything else he could think of. Some of his friends endeared him with the nick name "Chicken Bob".
He moved his family to Stanwood in 1974 when he began employment with Draper Valley Farms until his retirement. He raised commercial poultry all his working career.
He loved to go camping and especially to his son Don's property in Leavenworth where there were some great family times. One of his other favorite "jobs" was mowing lawn at his son Ron's property in Stanwood. He could never pass up a dinner spread put on by Barb. To say he loved his family is an understatement.
He also loved people. He enjoyed talking to anyone about the Bible. He had a great love for his God, Jehovah. In 1977, he and his wife and oldest son Robert became dedicated and baptized as Jehovah's Witnesses and he served God faithfully to his last day.
A memorial of his life will be held Saturday June 24th, 2023 at 2:00pm at the Stanwood Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses located at 27201, 56th Ave NW, Stanwood WA.
