ROGER GOETZ Obituary
January 27, 2017
Roger Goetz, 68, of Sedro-Woolley, passed away Friday, January 27, 2017 at SVH.
He was born October 9, 1948 in McLaughlin, South Dakota, to Art and Clara Goetz.
Roger grew up on the family cattle ranch, joining the US Army and served in Vietnam. He moved to Skagit County after his service to his country, where he became part owner in an Auto Shop, before finding his love of Carpentry. He became a carpenter with local Union 1532 until his retirement.
Roger loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping, was a member of the Skagit Muzzleloader's Club, going to rendezvous.
He was married to BettyJo Mannon in 1989, until her death in 2001. Roger remarried in 2003 to Colette Russel from South Dakota.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, wife Betty and son Michael Kemp.
He is survived by wife Colette, sons John Jenkins, Cory Goetz, Shawn Russel and daughter Sydney Russel; 7 grandkids and 5 great-grandkids; Siblings: Harold, Hilda, Howard, Betty, Richard, Rita, Linda, Sharon, Terry and their families and numerous in-laws.
Memorials donations can be made to American Heart Association or any Veteran's group.
Viewing will be held 10:00 a.m. until the Funeral Service on Thursday, February 2, 2017, 1:00 p.m., followed by a Graveside Service in Hawthorne Memorial Park. A reception will follow services in the Hawthorne Reception Room.
Arrangements are under the care of Hawthorne Funeral Home, Mount Vernon, WA.

To the man who had to put up with 3 little pain in the but kids, the man who convinced me to pull my eye off a handlbar, while ensuring his wife (Betty) was o.k too.. lol. Kept us in check and kicked our butts at Atari, so many memories.. love ya Uncle Roger!
