RONALD BOUFFINE Obituary

Our hero and father, Ronald J. Bouffine Sr. passed away surrounded by his children January 7, 2014 after a courageous battle with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis.

Ron was born August 4, 1944 in New Orleans, LA to Joseph and Ruby (Hebert) Bouffine. The United States Navy brought him to the Northwest where he was stationed at NAS Whidbey. After discharging from the Navy, he worked several jobs then became a cashier/produce manager at Albertsons at the Mount Vernon Mall. He later became a Security Officer at Swinomish Casino, then Skagit Casino for 15 years until his retirement due to health reasons in 2011. In all of his jobs he made many special friends that have lasted a lifetime and will continue in memories. He cherished his friends, and kept all of them close to heart.

He was a Cajun through and through and loved his spicy food. He was a New Orleans Saints fan but was warming up to the Seattle Seahawks especially QB Russell Wilson. Of course when the Saints played the Seahawks he did have to cheer for his Saints.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ruby and Joseph, twin daughters, Angela & Alice, brother Jimmey Bouffine, and numerous other relatives and friends.

He is survived by his daughter Tami (Dan) Cooper, son Jason (Jen) Bouffine, daughter Bernadette Achee, son Ronald (Melissa) Bouffine and grandchildren Emily Bouffine and Brianna & Joseph Achee, brother Bobby (Stephanie) Bouffine, aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends.

We will miss you dad, we will see you again one day.

The family would like to thank Hospice of the Northwest, especially our great nurse Jessie, all the special friends including but not limited to Al & Dee Golliver and family, John Howe & James & Trinna Knudson who were there for dad and us during this time.

We will be having a celebration of life for Ron at Skagit Casino on January 26, 2014 from Noon to 4pm.

Ron loved animals and was a veteran so any donations to a charity can be made to an organization that helps the animals and/or veterans.

Ron I have much known you from my teenage years to now. You were a good friend to my parents and always made us laugh. You were full of life and always laughing that crazy Cajun laugh of your's. I always looked forward to seeing you when I made it home for vacations. Take care Ron and we will meet again. Love, Sandra Golliver-Price.

When our daughter Jen married Jason Bouffine, we were really impressed with him. Then we met Ron. Immediately we knew where Jason got his friendly, don't-know-a-stranger personality.

Ron treated Jen like a daughter, & made us feel like family. We enjoyed his stories & his jokes. He was good natured & a great hugger.

We'll miss him, although we know a part of him lives on in Jason (& Tami too).

We'll miss you Ron. Rest in peace.

I guess Dad will be rooting for the Saints this Saturday

My heart hurts with the news of your passing.... always sneaking a hug and a kiss on the cheek at work...this weekend I'll be rooting for your saints in your honor. We had good talks and lots of laughs. I'll never forget your Cologne and your infectious laughs and smile. You were one in a million. I still have and will always keep the Cajun to English dictionary that was created while working with you.... you made us laugh and I'll never forget you Ronny.
