Sharon Stewart/Hilsinger Obituary
On November 28th Mother Nature held Sharon's hand and led her down the trail to join her deceased mother Elaine, father Robert, sister Joyce, and brother Bill.
She was born in 1950 to Elaine and Bob Stewart in Anacortes, WA where she was raised and attended school, graduating in 1969.
She often reminisced of her younger years traveling to Decatur Island on her Grandpa and Grandma's boat the "Mary Bob" and staying with them exploring the beach at low water and and helping Grandpa with the island mail.
Graduating from high school, Sharon began working for the Anacortes School District as a teacher's aide, bus driver, custodian, and warehouse/utility driver eventually retiring after 30 years of service.
Sharon married longtime friend Dennis Hilsinger in 1990. Together they had many adventures on the West Coast and Alaska. She loved collecting agates on the beach, fishing, creating mosaic works of art, quilting, riding her ATV, and sightseeing.
She is survived by her husband Dennis, stepson Nicholas and wife Kristi with two grandsons in Sedro Woolley, stepson Eli in Bellingham, stepson Victor and wife Lindsay with four grandsons in Kodiak, AK. Sharon has one deceased stepson, Jacob.
Sharon is also survived by her niece Renee Stewart and grandniece Paisley, niece Jodi Ulrickson and grandnephew Devin Younger.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, please donate to an animal shelter of your choice in Sharon's name.
We will have a gathering in Sharon's memory next summer with a BarBQ at our home in Concrete.
