Mary Tragoutsis Obituary

Mary was born in Stockton, California and was raised in Oakland. Her parents, Michael and Joana Econome were both born in Greece and came through Ellis Island. She graduated from Fremont high school in 1949. Mary met her husband Mike Tragoutsis at a Greek dance and married in 1952. They lived in Millbrae until 1973 and moved to San Mateo. Mary was a caring wife and mother and loved snow skiing and tennis. She is survived by her son John and wife Kim Tragoutsis and her two grandchildren, Michael and Maria.

Visitation service begins at 6pm followed by a Trisagion service at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at Sneider & Sullivan & O'Connell's Funeral Home, 977 S. El Camino Real in San Mateo. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at the Church of the Holy Cross, 900 Alameda de las Pulgas in Belmont. Interment to follow at St. John's Cemetery, 910 Oregon Ave. in San Mateo.

Mary Tragoutsis will always hold a special place in my heart. Her kindness always showed and always made me feel loved and accepted whenever I was at her home. Her love was endless for her family and grandchildren and I will forever keep her memory in my heart. I was truly blessed to have known this beautiful and loving lady. May Her Memory be Eternal.
