Doris L. Curci

1934 - 2025

Doris L. Curci, 91, a lifelong resident and beloved hairdresser in St. Marys, PA, passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, following a lengthy illness.

She was born on October 16, 1934 in St. Marys, a daughter of the late George and Margaret Fledderman Burgess.

She was formerly married to the late Leonard Curci, who preceded her in death.

Doris was a graduate of St. Marys High School, class of 1952 and was a member of Queen of the World Church. She attended Doyle Beauty School, graduating in 1953, and beginning her life story of colors, cuts, and curls. Owner of Doris Curci Beauty Shoppe and armed with a spunk many knew and loved, Doris would spend her days caring for her clients and friends alike and often gave more than was asked of her. When one of her friends needed help, she was always there to make one of her delicious apple pies. When she wasn't working, she enjoyed antiquing, gardening, and dancing. She was fond of animals, particularly her Springer Spaniels. She also enjoyed camping. Many will remember Doris for her eloquent beauty, always with her hair and makeup just right. She will be remembered for her generous spirit, kindness for all, and unending grace in everything she did.

Doris is survived by two daughters; Cindi (Robert) Curci-Lee of Florida, and Candy (Steve) Maddalena of Virginia; and by her two granddaughters; Marianna and Marissa Maddalena. She is also survived by one sister; Patty (Donald) Wolf of St. Marys, as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by two brothers; Robert "Bobby" Burgess and Richard Burgess.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Doris L. Curci will be celebrated on Monday, December 15, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Queen of the World Church, 134 Queens Road, St. Marys, PA 15857 with Fr. Jeffery Noble, Pastor, as celebrant.

Burial will follow in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Monday, December 15, 2025 from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the Elk County Humane Society, Queen of the World Church, the Penn Highlands Community Nurses, or to 365 Hospice.
