Irene Wehler Obituary
She was born on June 14, 1936 in St. Marys, a daughter of the late Andrew and Caroline Hoffman Mosemiller.
On July 6, 1957, she married the late Frederick Wehler, who preceded her in death in 1980.
Irene was a graduate of Central High School, class of 1954 and was a member of Queen of the World Church. She retired from the former Eckerd Drug after many years of service. In her free time, Irene enjoyed sewing.
She is survived by two daughters; Christy Wehler, of St. Marys and Peg Wehler of Holland, PA; and by eight grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Irene was preceded in death by her son, Andrew Wehler, by twin great-granddaughters; Amelia and Olivia, by four brothers; Edward, Robert, Arthur, Leo "Wimp" Mosemiller, by three sisters; Evelyn Reed, Marie "Toots" Baumgratz, and Alice Beimel, and by one sister in infancy.
Funeral Services for Irene M. Wehler are being held privately with the family at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Cameron/Elk Suicide Prevention Task Force, 2070 Court Street, Ridgway, PA 15853 or to Signs of Suicide Prevention Program, Dickinson Center Inc., 28 Railroad Street, St. Mary's, PA 15857.

My condolences to Christy and Peg. I grew up across the street from the Wehlers and practically lived at their house during the day. Christy and I were together alot in our younger days. My parents taught me to respectfully call parents of my friends mister or missus and then their last names but Irene did not like that. I was not permitted to call her by her first name so all my life I have called her " Second Mom". Second mom taught me how to sew, knit, crochet, embroider, quilt, pick blueberries back at the clay mines known as "the cuts". Within the past 4 years, I moved home to care for my dad and we made it a game to wave to each other when she was waiting for her great grandchildren to pass by on the school bus.
