My condolences to Christy and Peg. I grew up across the street from the Wehlers and practically lived at their house during the day. Christy and I were together alot in our younger days. My parents taught me to respectfully call parents of my friends mister or missus and then their last names but Irene did not like that. I was not permitted to call her by her first name so all my life I have called her " Second Mom". Second mom taught me how to sew, knit, crochet, embroider, quilt, pick blueberries back at the clay mines known as "the cuts". Within the past 4 years, I moved home to care for my dad and we made it a game to wave to each other when she was waiting for her great grandchildren to pass by on the school bus. She will be greatly missed. Love to all. Irene (Simbeck) Hanchar
